Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She is an American Mexican actress. Also, she sings. Her mother raised her within the USA she was subject to many racial slurs and made her feel being a bit unpopular. Her confidence began to grow in the ninth grade when she entered a school audition. She received a lot of praise for her singing. Not only did she gain confidence from the experience, but she also changed the direction of her career. At the age of 22, she graduated from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she started her professional career, making her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the role in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway production of Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. In the year following, she was cast in the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. In addition to being a popular singer, she has released two solo albums as well as an extended version. Also, she is an activist who is active in the field of LGBT rights.
